It gave us an opportunity to demonstrate the latest technology for construction equipment, without being overshadowed by the big machinery manufacturers. We received over 150 industry decision makers over the two days and were able to give representative demonstrations of key products, aswell as the time to discuss applications and specific requirements. From a Halomec perspective, the star of the event was the Loadrite X-Weigh dynamic excavator weighing system. This was installed on a JS220 digging excavator, provded courtesy of the JCB demonstration team at Rocester. A practical demo of this technology gave visitors a first hand understanding of this sophisticated product's capabilities. We have a number of significant enquiries from major earthmoving contractors for avoiding lorry overloading, to quarry operators for productivity performance monitoring and haul truck optimisation. As for the event, the question for the four founding organisers (Halomec, GKD, OnGrade and MOBA) is where to take the event next. There is clearly great scope to build on the success of this first event. Watch this space...
